This will be a limited offering for 4 students only and takes place over 2 weekends. Good for individuals or a group of friends.
This workshop will center around making a woven dress for the summer customized to your measurements and style choices. Bring photos or a Pinterest board of styles that you like.
If you have a sewing machine, it would be helpful for you to bring that with everything that comes with it to sew your project with. This will help you get familiar with YOUR machine and be able to better use it in the future.
We do have a few machines here you can use, but they would need to be reserved by you for an additional fee before the class starts.
Weekend 1: Friday, August 22nd, 6-9pm and Saturday, August 23rd, noon-7pm.
We will take your measurements on Friday evening and make your digital patterns. You will spend Saturday taping your patterns together, cutting them, going over fabric choices (we may have something here you can buy or you may need to buy fabrics during the week). We may do some sample stitching of seam finishes to get you ready for the following weekend. We can test some fancy stitches on your machine for embellishing your garment.
Weekend 2: Friday, August 29th, 6-9pm and Saturday, August 30th, noon-7pm
Friday you will be pinning and cutting your fabrics out and getting them ready for sewing. Saturday is all day sewing.
We will have snacks. But if you want lunch or dinner you should bring it with you. We have a microwave. There are also quite a few places nearby to order from.
